Victor Lawani (b.1993) is a contemporary Ghanaian artist born and raised in Ghana specifically tema but
currently in Nungua where he resides and continues to practice.
His journey as an artist began at a young age when he started drawing on walls and any surface he could
find.
He attended Takoradi Technical University where he graduated with an HND in Commercial Art (Painting Option) in 2015.
Victor is a multidisciplinary artist and enjoys working in graphite, charcoal, acrylic, and oils but has a
keen interest in watercolor which he continues to experiment and explore.
Currently residing and working in the heart of Nungua, Accra, a bustling fishing community on the
shores of Ghana, Victor draws profound inspiration from the dynamic interplay of his surroundings and
the resilient spirit of its people.
Victor skillfully navigates the realms of watercolor, seamlessly weaving it into a tapestry of visual narratives that resonate with
cultural depth and contemporary relevance. His artistic journey is an exploration of the intersection
between heritage and the immediate environment, transcending boundaries to create pieces that not
only connect the viewer to their ancestors but also celebrate the inherent beauty within the quotidian.
He uses his art as a medium to project the struggles, beauty and lifestyle of the everyday Ghanaian
and hopes his works serves as a voice for the voiceless and also hope to the people of his
community and the African community at large.
